BADMOS

Uppdaterat: 18 feb. 2023

After few days in Abidjan where I participated in MASA ( Marché des Arts du spectacle ). I got time the last day before my return to Sweden to meet a famous Frensh producer that I will tell about later. I asked him where to find some vinyls here in Abidjan. He immediately called someone who came half hour later to meet us. After presentation, I paid a taxi who drove us me and my guest to a place through a very huge populated area. We arrived half hour later at the place, entered in a house, dark inside, which happened to be his residence. Mom was a little further away sleeping on the floor while his little kids ran around me. He picked a few bags, full of rarities. I'm about to pass out. Lots of Afro beat and Latin jazz albums.

My first reaction is how to bring these records to Sweden. I am limited with weight on the plane. I only had a little purse at the hotel which is already full, but I can't resist not buying these rarites.

After all, I bought 30 albums and set aside 100 other to be send to me later. I had to leave half my clothes at the hotel to get a space.

When I got home, a few days later, started listening to the records and looking at the cover, I saw that it was produced by Badmos. I recognized the name, I thought. After a few minutes, I realized that the name on the cover is the name of the mane I bought the records for few weeks ago in Abidjan.

I hung out for several hours, was at the home of and bought records from one of the most famous record producers and had no idea who he was, while I searched in vain for someone who could tell about the epic of African music in Abidjan.
