Akli Yahyaten is the dean of living Algerian Kabyle music. He celebretad his 93 years with a new album last year 2022. He songs was revealed by RACHID TAHA as Ya El menfi, Goulou lami batbikch and more witch are counted among the best Arabic hits.
I found Akli outside his house in his village Ait Mendes where I´was looking for him. After presentation, we agreed to meet at 13.00 for an interview the same day. Unfortunately a small car accident in a Boghni, a town not far from his village delayed and finally missed my appointement since the day after Akli flew to France. Pure bad luck. I´still havn´t get in touch with him so far.
